A Gift Is A Gift

About a 1 1/2 years ago, I told a friend about Hannah and all he said was, "It's okay."  My friend went on to tell me to do something.

My friend, Mike and wife Pat are such beautiful people and have always been there for me even before I was married and had Hannah.  Well, Mike said, "Little E, I want to do something."  I was like what?  Mike went on to tell me to open my hands.  At the time, I thought it was the silliest thing.

Mike said, "Open your hands and repeat after me.  Thank you Lord for your gift and I receive your gift."  Then he went on to say, "that everything will be alright and that it is okay."  I've never had anyone be so sincere and say such heart felt words to me about my daughter.  I could tell Mike believed with all his heart that it is okay and that things will be alright, no matter what.  In the back of my mind, I was like how could it be alright.  I did not understand that at the time.

At the time, I was hurting, but I did what Mike told me to do.  Today, I now understand what he was doing and why he did what he did.

All children are gifts from God, even my little Hannah.  She is tailor made for our family and I thank God for her.

 Thank you, Mike for following the leading of the Holy Spirit on that day.  You and Pat are truly a blessing!
